Surfing is a Trip

The surf gods will forgive you. Just have a Bintang beer and say a short toast: "Sorry suckers." You can replace "suckers" with some Australian slang word to make it sound more like a compliment:)

Last year, when I was supposed to be at our 20th reunion, I drove all night and slept in the car to catch some hurricane swell in Jacksonville. As class president, I had to make one more executive decision! Have fun in Bali!

I suspected I could count on you guys for good moral reasoning and support! Now that I am guilt free and have your full support I can not wait!! Cheers

What kind of a question is this??? If you've got the resources and the wife is giving you the green light, GO MAN, GO!

cross, resources? does a credit card count? the family is on this trip as well, apparently good shopping in Bali! We are going, just trying to sort out which side of the island to go for, the west side is off shore through semptember and the east afer that...we are going last week of september first week of october.

Ok it is booked we are going! Will take pictures for sure.

How long does it take to drive from one side of the island to the other? Keep camp near the shopping area for half the trip to appease the shopping gods. Then reserve the back half of the trip at a cool remote spot for pure surfing and exploration. When are you leaving?

cross, only takes about 30mins or so, maybe longer to get to Uluwatu. we will be staying south of kuta in tuban at the ramada bintang. if you google earth that you will see that it is north of the airport by about 10mins or so. Kuta reef is directly out the front. There are several breaks along here, you hire a guy on the beach for like 10 bucks to take you out and come back and pick you up. At the time of year we are going the winds could be variable, we are on the end of the dry season with winds usually off shore on the west side, the side we are staying on, but if unlucky we could have onshore winds, but if that is the case a car drive to Nusa Dua on the other side will solve that. In some way I hope that happens abit as the west side is pretty much a land of lefts and the east side rights. I am regular so wouldnt mind the rights!! We leave the 26h Sept and return Oct 10th.

Matt, Bill Bradley here. Long time. How's things? I'm writing because I, too, will be in Bali in October, though it looks like we'll miss each other. I'll be there the 10th-25th.
