Surfing is a Trip

Here's a few shots of the new boards and scenery from the Orlando trip. Expo was like a three day acid metal concert, except the girls are actually hot and running around naked. It was hard to keep my concentration but I suffered through it. Dylan now has every square inch of his skateboard covered in stickers! Sunrise shots are from just South of Sebastian Inlet. I was able to catch two good sessions first in Melbourne and then in St. Augustine. Both chest high glassy groundswell. Melbourne was still warm enough to skin it. Maybe we save on the flight and just head south for the next nor'easter?

I just spoke with The Recovery Room and he said he'll talk to his wife about booking us for those three nights (as they usually only do week stays). He said if we're not brining women there's a place down the street called Surfer's Haven that usually has rooms/efficiencys. He says it's kind of rough and rowdy and doesn't recommend it for the wife, but for fellas it's ok.

I'm doing a web site for this guy's construction business. Turns out he's got a couple other businesses in El Salvador. Surf shop, surf tours, surf photography and more. He says El Salvador is what Costa Rica was 15 years ago. No crowds, awesome waves. La Libertad was the break he kept talking about. Check it out. The rates seem reasonable.

If any one would be interested in going at the end of the year or maybe 2008, I may barter his remaining balance to go down there.

Went fishing about 6 miles out this weekend at Mexico Beach. We ran across about 20 porpoises. We thought they were going to jump in the boat.

The other videos are interesting for different reasons. I am still trying to get the Bahamas and Barbados Surfer Magazine Reports. The server is down.

Since we are posting possible surf trip locations for April, I thought I would post the info I got from a friend that goes to Baja from time to time.

It's a place called Las Gaviotas or "Gavs" about an hour south of the border. You can rent a one-bedroom for $100 per night that can sleep 3. Larger places are available. Info is here.
