Davis Slideshow

I put together a slide show video of Davis pics for Jill's Christmas present. You can see it here. It features music by Donovan Frankenreiter. The end has some surfing pics from Davis' first surf session.

Still trying to make up for that not calling from Costa Rica thing. This helped I think.

Timmy Turner's serious condition

(Timmy is the surfer/filmmaker who brought us Ombak and Second Thoughts) From Surfline---------------------------

This is Jessica Turner, Timmy's wife. I know that there are a lot of
false things going around right now about Timmy's condition, and with that said I just want to be the one to put it out there right.

Right now Timmy is in the Neuro ICU. He is very heavily sedated for good reasoning, he started out about 2 weeks ago with headaches. He had no idea that it had turned into a very serious sinus infection. Last monday he and a couple of his friends decided to take the jet-ski down to Mexico to play.

And it was here where the doctors think that he could have gotten the staph. It took only 2 days before he had totally changed in his condition. He just looked different and wasn't acting like himself. His brother, Dad, and uncle forced him into the car on Thursday and got him to the ER. Thank GOD for that because they immediately started him on his antibiotics. They transfered him to another hospital with more advanced care and it is here now where is is just showing signs of getting just a little bit better everyday. On saturday, the doctors told us that brain surgery was the only option. They removed a piece of the left side of his skull to relieve the pressure of his brain swelling. He is not yet in stable condition, which means that he is still serious. It is hour by hour and then day by day.

We were told to expect a month long sedation period and a very long and extensive road to recovery after that. We don't know the extent of the brain injury yet, that will come with time, lots and lots of time. We all need to be patient and that is a hard thing to be considering how much we all love and care for Timmy.

Tomorrow is another day and I THANK GOD FOR THAT! He has age, health, and strong will on his side. And we have seen baby steps from him last last couple of days, and that is what we are holding on to. Tomorrow brings us another CATscan, and that is why prayer is needed so so badly. Thank you for caring and just keep praying, PLEASE! His LOVING Wife & Family

We are working on a website right now, www.timmyturner.org, it should be
up and running soon to keep everyone updated on Timmy's recovery. Until
then please respect our privacy. And THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for all your prayers.

new Hydro-Epic Board

My new Hydro-Epic board has arrived. This is basically the same board as the black one, though a second generation model and with the Lance Armstrong color scheme (yes, Lance does actually have one and since Sheryl Crow has a house just a couple of blocks from here, I may eventually get to share the lineup with him someday). The vent plug is significantly improved with an aluminum plug/ leash cup and gore-tex constant venting filter. I believe there are some changes to the internal rib system as well. With some luck we'll have a Christmas swell tomorrow to get wet! M.

Board Racks

Check out the new wall racks I made for my boards. I had some empty space upstairs to I thought I would put it to good use. I put the good boards up high so Davis couldn't reach them. Posted by Picasa

Name the Lopez Shop Contest

Name the Lopez Shop Contest
Did you know Cory and Shea Lopez are from here? Well, Indian Rocks Beach which is like, right up the road from St. Pete Beach. We're all Gulf Coasters anyway. Help name their new shop and win a board.
Their dad is my inspiration for fatherhood. Aparently he took them to the East Coast and various global surf trips while they were growing up. Now their International Playboys of Surfing.

Georgia: The New Surf Frontier

Check out this Georgia Surf Guide. Lots of interesting breaks but most are boat access.

New Camera

I just bought a new digital SLR camera. The Nikon D50. I will need to rob a bank to get the zoom lens.
