Let's talk boards for a minute. Here's some shots of my ten year old 6'4" short board. I don't feel too confident bringining it as my only board because it's wafer thin, and I'm not (190lbs to be exact). I think I need something longer and more floaty. Whaddya think?

Snorkeling Gear

Note to self and others: bring snorkling gear. Just fins, a mask and a snorkel would be good. If nothing else it'll help when in the water trying to take pics. I also have a smallish spear gun. Think it'll travel?

Here's some video from the last few months. The perfect day, Dec. 24, the outside air temp was like 38 degrees. Windchill in the teens. Ice cream headache after the third duck dive.

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - (I take no responsibility for impulsive plane ticket purchases that result in the jinxing of this forecast. However, I do have a reputation to keep so call me out if I miss this one.) A week from next Wednesday - March 9th - the first solid swell of the year will arrive. Both a NW and SW combo for solid double overhead conditions, and a foot overhead at sheltered spots. Even better news is that the swell lasts for a week to two weeks straight. Until then, chest to head high up north and a foot bigger from Hermosa south for the weekend and until Tuesday. Then consistent overhead surf for Wednesday through next weekend from a West swell with a 12 second period.
